About the serie
I'm not certain if I can return home on time, as ignoring the concept of home has become habitual for me. Through my series "Home [Absence] Home" I aim to convey the cold and numb psychological state I've developed. This is to confront the reasons for my resistance to going back home and to dismantle the barriers that obstruct my journey home. My pride and ego, in wanting to carry a home with me, are so strong that sometimes, when I miss home, I must give in and grab a cup of noodles from the Mogok Noodle shop, just two blocks away from my current place in Yangon, to continue my journey. It doesn't offer the same warmth as the fried noodles my father used to buy for me on my birthdays. Although the winters in Yangon may be hot, my heart remains as cold as the winters in Mogok. My artworks will reflect the days spent at home with my mother and father. From an era marked by sorrowful grievances over unjust greed, from a fragile existence wrapped in leaves where the scent of burning is predominant.
